Ms. Tsuruko Adcock, age 88, of Calhoun, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by her family at her residence.


Ms. Adcock was born in Yomitan-Son, Okinawa, Japan on Feb. 10, 1937. She had a great love for her family and was loved by all those who knew her. Her sweet spirit will be missed and her memory will forever be held in the hearts of her family.


She is survived by one son, Leslie (Miranda) Adcock; two grandchildren, Austin (Jennifer) Adcock and Allison Adcock; one great grandchild, Julian Adcock; sisters and brothers; and extended family.


In accordance with her wishes, Ms. Adcock was cremated and no further services are scheduled at this time.

John Blackstock

Mr. John Culley Blackstock, 47, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Emory University Hospital. Culley is the son of Mr. Harold Blackstock and the late Mrs. Minnie Hall Blackstock. He is the grandson of the late Harrison and Sarah Hall and J.C. and Sue Blackstock. He is survived by his brother Bryan (Carla) Blackstock; nieces, Emma and Sarah Blackstock, all of Resaca and his sister Kim (Casey) Brooks of Pensacola, Fla. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.


A private family observance will be held.

Kimberly Bunch

Ms. Kimberly Bell Bunch, age 64, of Adairsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.


Kimberly was born on May 25, 1961, in Ooltewah, Tenn., to Edgar Jacob Buckner and Mildred Lillian Godsey Buckner. She was a devoted mother, beloved Nana, loyal sister, loving aunt, and a deeply cherished friend. Known for her strength, warmth, and unwavering love, Kimberly was truly the glue that held her family together.


She spent many years working as a nurse at Gordon Health and Rehab, where her compassion, kindness, and dedication left a lasting impact on both patients and coworkers. Her legacy of generosity and care touched everyone she met.


Kimberly had a bright and vibrant spirit. She loved doing puzzles, traveling to the beach and mountains, going shopping, and simply enjoying any chance to go somewhere or do something new. Her energy and joy made even the simplest moments feel full of life and meaning.


She is survived by her daughters, Jessica Bunch (fiancé Wes Deputy) and Jordan Redd (husband Lee); her grandchildren, Mackinsey Bishop (fiancé Mason), Savannah Worthington (boyfriend Devin Myers), Kendall Worthington, Breckin Smith, Josie Deputy, Russ Redd, and Ruth Ann Redd; and her great-grandchildren, Isla Turley and Bennett Bishop.


She is also survived by her loving sister, Judy James (husband Richard); her brothers, Brian Buckner (wife Kim), Scott Buckner (wife Linda), Vaughn Buckner (wife Sharon), and Bud Buckner (wife Sharon); along with special nieces Katrina Wiggins, Tanya Colston, Allison Gilbert, and Misty Bell. Kimberly also remained close with her former mother-in-law, Elsie Bunch, and her dear friend, Jeff Rakestraw, both of whom held special places in her life. She is also survived by several other cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends who loved her deeply.


She was preceded in death by her former husband Barry Bunch, her sister Rowena Buckner Ballengee, and her parents, Edgar and Mildred Buckner.


Kimberly’s presence lit up every room, and her love held her family through both the best and hardest times. She had an unbelievable ability to mold herself into exactly what each of her loved ones needed—whether it was comfort, laughter, guidance, or strength. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, and the strength of her love will continue to carry her family forward. 


A Celebration of Kim’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.

Herschel Croy

Mr. Herschel Lee Croy, age 76, of Resaca, departed this life on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by the family he cherished deeply.


Born on Jan. 5, 1949, in Chattooga County, Herschel was the beloved son of the late Allen Lester Croy, Sr., and the late Ada Katherine Thompson McQuire and Milton McQuire. He was also preceded in death by his son and daughters-in-law, James and Tina Croy and Amy Croy; his in-laws, Cecil Earl and Ethel Mae Johns Allmon; his sister, Barbara (Mickey) Gross; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerry Shaw, Pat Allmon, Clifford Eugene Allmon, Larry Paul Allmon, Judy Allmon, and Bonnie Allmon, and nephew, Eddie Gentry and J.R. Gentry.


Herschel’s life was defined by love—love for his family, his community, and for hard work. A self-taught musician with a passion for country music, he found joy in playing the guitar and singing. He was known for his generosity and ability to help others, whether through music, mentorship, or simply lending a hand. Despite only holding a GED, Herschel’s strong work ethic led him to a successful career as a plant supervisor and manager at World Carpet and Aquafill USA. His hands were rarely still—he was a master mechanic who could fix anything, and he worked tirelessly to support his family, even during difficult times.


He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Linda Sue Croy, with whom he would have celebrated a milestone anniversary on Oct. 7, 2025. Herschel leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in his son, Mark Croy, and Jennifer Mitchell of Calhoun; grandchildren, Ashley and Storm Young, Matthew and Holly McHugh, Nicole Lynn Croy, Amanda Gail and Cody Parker, Beverly Diane and Bud Phillips, Joshua and Tiffany Croy, Cassandra Lee Croy, T.J. and Joy Lamasters; and great-grandchildren, Storm Blade Young, Kobe Jermaine Young, Nova Marlene Young, Walker James Croy and Lyra Croy.


He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy and Janice Croy of Henagar, Ala., and Robert Croy of Missouri, along with Tommy McQuire and Billy McQuire of Summerville; sisters, Ethel and Ted Deberry of Summerville; nieces, Wanda, Debbie and Jamie Gentry; nephews, Johnny Gentry, and Terry Wayne Gentry; other numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly. Special family friends include Julie and Greg Watson, Sandy and Roger Miller and Ralph Stansell.


A service to celebrate the extraordinary life of Mr. Herschel Lee Croy will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Matthew McHugh officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved son at Chandler Cemetery. Herschel’s family and close friends will honor him by serving as pallbearers.


The family received friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel on Monday and Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.

Barbara Sue Greeson, 68, of Calhoun, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025. She was born in Rome, Ga. on July 27, 1956, to the late Thomas David Worsham and Alice Jeanette White Worsham.


Barbara is survived by her sons, Randall Lee Payne (LeAnn), Thomas James Payne, Keith Eugene Payne, and Hershel O’Neil Payne; brother and sisters, Sarah Henderson, Francis Burchett, Nancy Harrison, Phyllis Rogers, David, and LaRana Worsham; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.


To honor the wishes of Barbara, her body will be cremated, and no services will be held.

Mrs. Edwina Jane McInnish, age 83, of Calhoun, and formerly of LaGrange, peacefully departed this life on Sunday morning, July 27, 2025, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Calhoun. A woman of quiet strength and heartfelt devotion, Edwina lived a life defined by love—for her family, her community, and the people whose lives she touched along the way.


Born on July 6, 1942, in Wallsboro, Ala., Edwina was the beloved daughter of the late Eddie Lee and Eddie Vara Gantt Parmer. A 1960 graduate of Wetumpka High School, she was shaped by the values of faith, compassion, and service from an early age.


Following her marriage to the love of her life, the late Robert Jackson “Ted” McInnish, Edwina moved to LaGrange, where they built a beautiful life together. She briefly worked at a local attorney’s office before dedicating herself fully to the role she cherished most—being a devoted wife, nurturing mother, and loving homemaker. She also volunteered as a “pink lady” at the local hospital, offering comfort and warmth to those in need.


Edwina’s heart belonged to her LaGrange neighborhood, where she formed close bonds with her community. Her warm presence, neighborly spirit, and thoughtful acts of kindness made her a treasured part of the lives she touched. In her later years, she relocated to Calhoun to be closer to family, continuing to be a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted McInnish; her sister Bonnie Jean (Gene) Hatfield; brothers William Paul “Bill” Parmer and Henry Carlson (Barbara) Parmer, Sr.; and brothers-in-law Robert Earl “Bobby” Wood and Ulrich “Rick” Eberhardt.


Edwina is lovingly survived by her sons, David Parmer and Heather McInnish of Helena, Ala., and Robert “Rob” and Cheryl McInnish of Dalton; grandsons, Robert “Jack” McInnish and Thomas McInnish, both of Dalton; sisters, Nelda Wood of Wetumpka, Ala., and Gail Eberhardt of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; sister-in-law, Shelvie “Jean” Parmer of Clearwater, Fla.; special longtime friend, Donna Casey of Winterville, Ga.; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and friends.


Edwina’s legacy lives on in the warmth of her family’s embrace, the laughter of her grandchildren, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her memory will be a guiding light and a source of comfort for all who were blessed to know her


Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mrs. Edwina Jane McInnish will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. (EST) at Jeffcoat Funeral Home, 255 Friendship Road, Tallassee, Alabama, with Reverend Robert Eberhardt officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her family at Rose Hill Cemetery, Tallassee, AL. Her close family members will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Jeffcoat Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour.

Linda Hicks Parker, 79, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025. She was born in Calhoun on Dec. 2, 1945, to the late Chester and Maybell Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Brookshire in 1970, and Kenneth Parker in 2018; brothers, Swan Hicks, Bob Hicks, Billy Hicks, Oneal Hicks; sister, Joyce Holbert.


She is survived by her daughters, Shelia Allen, Jeanie Johnston, Wendy Turner; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.


To honor her wishes, her body was cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
