

GNTC announces Free Application Month for the 2026 summer semester
Georgia Northwestern Technical College (GNTC) will host a Free Application Month throughout March to help those who are seeking to enroll in the 2026 summer semester. Through March 31, GNTC will waive the $25 application fee for all incoming students. Applicants should enter the code MARCH26 (all capital letters) to waive the fee. Deadline to apply for Homestead Exemptions is April 1st

Former OWASA doctor Jenkins dies
Dr. Morris Jenkins, who came to Calhoun and founded OWASA Family Medicine in the early 80’s, has died. He was 74. A revered family physician, husband, father, grandfather, and neighbor, Dr. Jenkins had most recently lived in Brevard, NC. Carr Secures Over $50 Million for Consumers and Taxpayers in 2025

Vehicle vs. pedestrian begins as domestic incident; One arrested on assault charge
A Tuesday morning vehicle vs. pedestrian incident around the area of Hwy.41 North that ended in a parking lot off of South Wall Street resulted in one woman being arrested on an assault charge. According to the Calhoun Police Department, the event began as a domestic incident.
