One dead after Thursday afternoon brush fire on Nicklesville Road
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, at approximately 1:56 PM, Gordon County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the 7000 block of Nicklesville Road following reports of a brush fire in a wooded area. Upon arrival, fire units encountered a rapidly spreading woods fire involving a significant portion of forested terrain.
